Sustainance of Our Projects |
|
|
|
|
Sustainability Requires Long Term Goals, Not “Quick-Fixes”. Thus, we aim to focus on the following factors: - Build capacity of participants
- Explore and ensure the marketability of project products
- Put the project within the reach of the involved
- Gear scope and size of project toward local reality
- Encourage self-help groups
All our projects will be designed to indirectly instill values in the target group. We focus on Respect for Human Dignity as the Foundation: - Respect family relationships
- Respect and understand the customs and cultures of the community
- Take into consideration the pace of life of the people
- Give value to the positive accomplishments of the participants.
- Support people without duplicating what they have done for themselves.
1. We empower the Local Community. - Involve the people, both in planning for and in the responsibilities of carrying out a project.
- Participate in the activities of the community.
- Use mental or spiritual awareness as well as self-confidence and self-esteem as important factors in training to develop technical skills
- Include the people with the least opportunity.
2. Instill Responsibility and Perseverance - Encourage people to take responsibility for their own actions-do not just say that the government caused the situation.
- Work with the community continuously, over a long period of time.
- Do not give up on the children.
3. Network and partner government and NGOs - Build partnership among individuals, groups, community, business, and government agencies.
- Be aware of other NGOs so as not to duplicate each other’s work.
